Kirsten works with individuals and families with all forms of disordered eating or those looking to ditch a dieting history.
Services Include:
One on one nutrition counseling
Family based treatment (FBT) for eating disorders
Treatment team collaboration
Food log review (when appropriate)
Meal support in the office or at restaurants
Grocery Store tours with meal planning
What we will work on:
Replacing all-or-nothing thinking with one of self-compassion. Being kind to yourself and knowing that "nutrition doesn't have to be perfect" will allow you to fuel your body and free up your time spent trying to make choices about food.
Incorporating cooking, planning, or preparing foods in a way that fits your schedule and goals.
Expanding your understanding of how foods work in the body and use this to eat in a way that works for you and your health.
Seeing your body for all that it is and all that it can do for you, which is not just a number on a scale!
Beyond Office Visits
Once we’ve gotten to know one another in the office setting, I encourage going out into a real-world setting and getting “hands-on” with an eating experiment, meal exposure at a restaurant, or delving into food choices at a grocery store.
